This policy explains what information Best Deal Dekho (“we”, “us”) collects when you use bestdealdekho.com, why we collect it and the choices you have.

Information we collect

When you click a deal or coupon

Our “Get Deal” and “Shop Now” buttons go through our own redirect page (for example /go/123/) before sending you to the store. When you click, we record: which deal or coupon was clicked, the store and category, the date and time, the website you came from (domain only), the general type of device (desktop, mobile or tablet) and an anonymous visitor code. The visitor code is a one-way hash made from a shortened version of your IP address, your browser’s user-agent and the date; it changes every day and cannot be turned back into your IP address. We use this only to count clicks and estimate unique visitors. We do not store your full IP address for click tracking.

When you copy a coupon code

We record that the code was copied, with the same anonymous details as above, so we know which coupons are useful.

When you contact us

We store the name, email address, subject and message you send, plus a hashed (non-reversible) version of your IP address to prevent spam. We use this only to reply to you and keep a record of the conversation.

Deal alerts (push notifications)

If you turn on deal alerts, your browser gives us a push subscription address and encryption keys created by your browser’s push service, and any categories you choose. We store these to send you notifications. We do not receive your name or email for this. You can turn alerts off at any time from the “Get Deal Alerts” window or your browser settings; we then stop sending and mark the subscription inactive.

Cookies and local storage

• Saved deals: deals you save are stored only in your browser’s local storage on your device. We do not receive this list.
• Session cookie: a session cookie is set only when you use a form (such as the contact form) to protect it against cross-site request forgery, and for logged-in administrators.
• Offline support: our service worker stores the site’s design files (CSS, JavaScript, icons) on your device so the site loads faster. It does not store deal prices.

Stores and affiliate networks

When you leave our site for a store, that store’s own privacy policy applies. Stores and affiliate networks may use cookies to recognise that you came from us so that a commission can be paid. Please read the store’s policy for details.

How long we keep information

• Click and coupon-copy records: kept as anonymous statistics. [Set your retention period, e.g. 24 months.]
• Contact messages: kept for as long as needed to handle your request. [Set a period.]
• Push subscriptions: until you unsubscribe or the push service reports them as expired.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information you have sent us (for example a contact message). You can withdraw consent for notifications at any time. To make a request, contact us.

Security

We use HTTPS, restrict admin access, hash passwords and store secrets outside the public website. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.
